• How to be a More Thankful Grandparent

While all of us like the bounty of food that is sprung upon our tables on Thanksgiving Day, this year take an action back and truly appreciate what you are grateful for. Here are a couple of ways on how grandparents can show gratitude this year.

    • Make a gratitude pumpkin

Ask your kids and grandkids to compose what they are happy for on the pumpkin. Relax and discuss everybody's thoughts.

    • Write a letter

You might be telling to yourself, "Who composes a letter nowadays with e-mail and text around," but actually writing a letter is so cool and a wonderful way to show someone your appreciation. Letters are exceptionally personal considering that as quickly as you begin writing, the words start flowing from your heart right on to the page, making your message really sincere.

    • Call him/her

There is no better way to tell somebody that you are grateful for him or her than by informing them! Despite the fact that many individuals may be busy with Thanksgiving Day preparations, a quick phone call can still make their day without taking up much time. And, if they are busy, a voicemail of you talking about your thankfulness would be a great surprise for them to find when they do have a minute to check their phone.

Another variation on this, thanks to technology, is FaceTime (or other video chat applications like Skype, and so on). While this alternative does tend to be more of a time-consumer, you and your loved one on the other end can control how long the call is.

    • Make a short video

The majority of us have phones with what we call the "selfie camera" these days, so simply press record and talk as if your loved one is right in the room with you. Short videos are also great to send out to people you have not seen or talked to personally for a while because of the fact that there's absolutely nothing like seeing the face and hearing the voice of someone you love and miss! Keep things basic, emotionally real, and short (especially since text/email will restrict how long your videos can be to send them.
